The Crash Landing

 Travelers Log:1

My ship alerted me 300 feet before I landed. I made it out alive. My craft however, is wrecked. Regaining my composure, I stumbled to my feet. My boots now firmly planted in the terrain, I scanned a great canyon before me. Carved over millions of years, the valleys went miles deep.  Darkness at the bottom. Beyond this canyon lie a sun. The darkest sun I had ever stared into. The land bathed in a light clearly from a new spectrum. It feels dry, tired. But I know there is oxygen on this planet. The fire is burning especially hot here. I can survive. For now.

Where do I go from here. What is beyond that horizon?
